The bullying experience is cyclical and even afer it stops, there are distinct phases through which every bullied individual passes.
During the initial acute phase, emotions are naturally raw. It's not a good time for learning and remembering. Anxiety interferes with letting information in and good retention. It is often sufficient to know that:

2. You did not invite and you did not want the misery inflicted by someone else
There is no such thing as a "little good bullying."
